We have lots to be excited about this month and we want to share it all with you!

One of our favourite suppliers has released her new collection. We have worked with Vanessa Arbuthnott for seven years creating wonderful interiors with her fabrics for many of our customers. Many of you may have seen her fabrics in interior design magazines; her designs evolved originally from her infamous cockerel print which she used to print herself at home. The business has evolved over the years into 10 collections including wildflower and hand-printed designs.

Vanessa Arbuthnott's new Swedish collection

New for 2012 is her inspiring Swedish collection; she has drawn inspiration from some of the iconic British designers of the 1950's - but with a subtle Scandinavian twist. The four new designs depict stylised birds and foliage in new Gustavian shades such as Dove and Dusky Pink and some bright contemporary colours, Pumpkin and Sweet Pea with a spot and a striped design as co-ordinates.

Her fabrics work so well in both period and contemporary settings and are very easy to live with. We hope you love them as much as we do!

    See us in Country Living

If you subscribe to or buy Country Living magazine you will be able to have a sneaky peak inside my house and garden in the July issue available from early June. You will even spot some of Vanessa's fabrics in this shoot as it is a firm favourite of mine. I hope you find the article interesting.

It is titled 'Where old meets new 'and shows some beautiful photographs of various rooms in our 17th century house. Winston and Tolly, our border terriers, are staring in some of the pictures too, let's hope it all doesn't go to Winston's head - he can be a bit of a diva!

  New Akin and Suri fabrics

New to Rooms with a View, textile designers Piyush Suri and Burcu Akin create original  hand screen and wood block printed designs for contemporary interiors influenced by their rich cultural backgrounds.

Design inspirations come from their home countries of Turkey and India but and their designs have a distinct geometry and a love of symmetry.

The colour palette is a sophisticated blend of neutrals with shocking splashes of colour. They love playing with unusual colour combinations and marry opposite directions to create unconventional yet contemporary feel in their designs. Hand printed on cotton and linens, Akin and Suri designs work superbly on curtains as well as furnishings.
Rooms with a View is proud to able to supply these designs and hold all the pattern books in store.

We hope you enjoyed the Facebook competition last month, the winner of a fabulous Cath Kidston bag was Jan Bevan. Well done Jan!
