Where has the year gone? We are now in the second half of 2014 and our Christmas orders have already started arriving - how bizarre to be receiving Christmas decorations whilst the sun beats down outside - I can never get my head around it!
Anyway, lots of great new arrivals over the last few weeks. Our plain natural linens have proved so popular with dressmakers that we have matched them with Merchant and Mills great dress patterns. And a young local artist has joined our collection with great hand printed tea towels and accessories.
Merchant and Mills
Merchant & Mills was formed just a few years ago to elevate sewing to its proper place in the creative world, respecting the craftsmanship it entails. They produce a lovely range of dress patterns and really useful kits of all the bits and pieces that you might need in creating your very own cloths. Presented in superb and unusual vintage utilitarian packaging, they also make a great gift for someone with a creative flair. Match them with our natural linens here for great summer dresses.
Norfolk designer Lottie Day produces wonderful creative designs on fabric which she then crafts into tea-towels, shoulder bags, napkins and other accessories. Boldly coloured animals and vegetables are her hallmarks and I just love them! They are selling fast so do pop in and grab a future design icon. Ring us for stock details as they are not on our website.
I just love Hannah Nunn's new wallpaper designs - soft cow parsley images blowing in the wind, all in a range of pastel colours. They work so well with many of Vanessa Arbuthnott's and Peony and Sage's country inspired linens. Hannah also produces a unique large wallpaper design of wild grass ears, that is over 1.5m wide and 2m high, again in soft colours. Totally unique for a large wall.
We have her sample book in the shop.
