Start the New Year with a bargain.

I’d like to wish you a very happy New Year and hope that you had a merry Christmas time. It’s was lovely to see so many of you during the past few weeks and I hope we didn’t look too frazzled! To me January is a time of reflection and a chance to slow down just a little. It’s also a chance to tell you about things that we’ve been bursting to show you but had to wait until the Christmas rush was over - including special reductions on curtains and blinds for January.

Best regards, Debbie

Mix and Match

Combining patterns successfully into your décor and soft furnishings takes confidence, but the result can be stunning. Certain colours and hues work wonderfully well together allowing you to place four or five different designs of fabric in one room. Of course it’s easier to achieve this if you select your fabrics from the same design house and the new collection from Baker Lifestyle is completely irresistible.
Inspired by a beautiful house and garden in Hampshire, these designs capture flora and fauna as well as whimsical garden follies. Four colour themes – green, blue, cream and red, are played out in a host of complementary designs that you’ll want to combine.

Exclusive to Rooms with a View

We are really pleased to bring you a completely new fabric collection by new designers, Peony & Sage. The stylishly delicate designs and colours take their inspiration from nature and have been created to work with the Farrow & Ball paint colours.
Peony & Sage offers complete versatility; the heavy linens are suitable for curtains and upholstery, and are very much at home in a country style house; the tweeds would add a striking note to a city dwelling or a ski chalet.

Designed in Northumberland, and printed on natural linen and wools in England, these prints are a perfect addition to any home. Come and have a look - we currently have a reupholstered chair on display in the shop covered in Peony and Sage’s hare fabrics which looks just fantastic!

Comfortably cosy

With the magic of Christmas behind us, the desire to feel comfortably cosy at home remains high on the agenda. The best bedrooms provide a sanctuary for relaxation and we suggest that the addition of a roman blind to complement your existing curtains can provide that extra element of cosiness. Better still, add a couple of large cushions to your bed in the same fabric as the blind. You’ll make quite an impact, as well as creating a comfortable place to unwind.

If you want to get really carried away, then drape a soft luxurious throw along the bottom of your bed – perfect to warm up your toes or wrap around your shoulders. We have some beautiful fabrics and throws to help you do just that.

Decorative detailing

Adding braid, bobbles or beads to your blinds or curtains will make them stand out from the crowd, adding an interesting note and giving them a bespoke air. Using a contrasting colour or pattern as an edging to curtains will strike a pose. Trimming cushions is a lovely idea too, whether it’s classic piping or a bobble trim that picks out your colour theme. These finishing touches will make all the difference to your soft furnishings and we’d be only too happy to help you to select the right ones.

10% of all fabrics...

Most fabric suppliers have announced that they will be increasing their prices early in the New Year due to worldwide increases in raw cotton and linen prices.

But before they do, Rooms with a View are offering you an extra 10% off any fabrics purchased in January when made up by us into curtains or roman blinds.

Just bring a copy of this newsletter with you when you come into the shop and we’ll do the rest.
