September 2010
Welcome to our September Newsletter.
Our annual sale is well and truely happening, so if you haven't already been in then don't forget to pop in and grab yourself a bargain. The sale will continue to run for the first week or so in September but don't leave it too long as its been really busy. We need to make room for lots of lovely new stock from new suppliers coming in later this month.
The Bradley Collection, always known as the Rolls Royce of curtain poles have just introduced a new metal pole range to bridge the gap between 'normal' metal poles and their traditional top of the range products. Still beautifully hand made in a range of stainless steels, this range is more affordable than any previous Bradley pole so if your looking for a superb modern metal pole range then pop into the shop as we have a full range of samples.
A new delivery of pure wool throws will be coming into the shop in late September from our long term supplier Moons, so although the sun is still shining as I write this, they make fantastic gifts (for yourself or others!) as the evenings start drawing in and temperatures start to dip.
Also new to the shop are a range of great picture frames and lighting - both standard lamps and table lamps - from another new supplier to us.
At the end of September we are expecting a exciting new delivery from Cath Kidston - gorgeous handbags, purses, phone cases, fantastic gifts for friends, relatives, and yours truely! Affordable home accessories such as aprons, teatowels, ovengloves, pegbags and lots more to cheer up your home as well. We will be stocking a substantial product range from this popular company. Watch this space for more details!
Styleline, our long term supplier of venetian blinds has introduced a new range of colours and 63mm slat sized blinds - a great alternative to plantation shutters without all the additional costs involved. Manufactured from sustainable hardwoods at Styleline's own factories, this is a great extention to their range of quality products,
Remember that, starting on the 6th Sept, St Nicholas street in Diss will be subject to roadwords - they are widening the pavements outside our store. During this time, you will not be able to drive down St Nicholas street so will have to park either on Shelfhanger Rd (at the top on St Nicholas Street) or drive around Sunnyside and down Mount Street to the bottom car parks near the church. Access to our shop will be maintained at all times, and if you have deliveries or are collecting heavy items you will still be able to access with your car - the council have agreed that all collections and deliveries will be maintained as normal. So business as normal! If your worried about getting to us or finding your way, then ring for advise before setting off. All the diversions will be well signposted according to the council.
Best regards

Also just appearing in are a range of goodies from Poppy Treffry, hand make bags and covers in vintage textiles. Even beautiful little padded iPhone covers!

July 2010 Newsletter
Welcome to our July Newsletter.
Well flaming June has lived up to its name well and truly with the incredibly hot weather which hopefully will run well into July
We are now able to offer St Jude fabrics - lovely original screen print designs from Angie Lewin - produced just up the road in North Norfolk. These couple of photos show a small sample of their designs. Also new this month is the Camengo childrens range - fabulous wallpapers and appliquéd designs in fabric. Great for the little one's rooms. Romo have launched their 2010 collection and we now have all the new designs in our collection - great hard wearing designs are attractive prices.
With the hot summer weather, remember that we stock Venetian blinds, vertical blinds and voiles on rollers - they are all great at breaking up the full glare of the sun coming through the windows and offer dappled shade and privacy.
Special offers this month are display lengths of top designs - most are around 3m in length and allow you to purchase great fabrics from top names such as Colefax, Jane Churchill, Romo and others - all at very substantial discounts - many are half price. Perfect for blinds, and smaller curtains. All the designs are current so extra fabric can be ordered if needed. First come first serve!
Remember the long evenings are a great time to do that external painting that you've been putting off for so long. Both Farrow & Ball and Little Greene have wonderful colours for external woodwork and masonry so don't forget to pick up colour cards and sample pots before you forget!

June 2010 Newsletter
Welcome to our June Newsletter.
You may have seen over the past few years, in various lifestyle magazines, fabrics and accessories from a company called Cabbages and Roses. We are so pleased to be able to introduce their fabrics to our collection, they have a wonderful vintage feel to them, either printed on white or natural linen.
The fabric collection is very competitively priced and offers a variety of prints and stripes to suit all rooms. Please do come into the shop to browse through the fabric books and samples. Remember that the Ian Mankin ticking fabrics, introduced to our shop last month, work really well with this collection and have proved to be very popular.
We also have a new collection of stock fabric available off the roll, woven from natural cottons and linens in France and Belgium providing a great collection of stripes, so if you want to create a new look at minimal cost we may have the solution.
It’s the time of year that we all start to think about sprucing up the house, especially the exterior whilst the weather is good (hopefully!) and the longer evenings are here. We offer both Farrow and Ball and Little Greene exterior paints - masonry, eggshells and full glosses. For traditional homes with lime rendered walls both companies also produce exterior limewash in a full range of colours. Please call in for advice and colour-charts - sample pots are in stock in the full range of colours to allow you to 'try before you buy'.
Don’t forget our new extended range of Danish oilcloths which arrived last month - perfect for outdoor tables and alfresco dining arrangements. We have only limited quantities, and once gone, cannot be replaced so call in early.

May 2010 Newsletter
Welcome to our latest newsletter. Lots of new items in the shop this month; summer nautical themed gifts and boats for your bathroom, miniature framed pictures and beach prints, an expanded range of notebooks and garden jotters. We have some quirky new union jack inspired 'vintage' tea cosies and pinboards. In the window you may notice some giant hurricane lamps - we are managed to source these beautiful lamps in two different sizes - both are in solid stainless steel so can be left outdoors without fear of going rusty. With candles inside, they look lovely in the garden on a late summer evening as dusk descends.
Oilcloths have always been popular and we've just received a new range of nine great designs from Denmark, available off the roll in whatever size you need. Great for picnic tables, outdoor events and protecting the dining room table from sticky kiddies fingers and dinner time excesses! Remember that as the summer barbeques and outdoor dining starts again we also have a range of Emma Bridgewater melamine plates, beakers and bowls in lots of Emma's popular designs. Completely smash proof and can be thrown in the dishwasher after use.
We've added Ian Mankin's popular fabrics to our portfolio - lovely stripes and ticking in organic cottons and linens. We have the full range in five pattern books to peruse in the shop, and at great prices too. I'm really pleased to be able to offer this collection as I have always been a convert of his serviceable traditional ticking especially as they are produced at their own mill in the UK. The fabrics are suitable for loose covers, curtains and blinds.
Thanks to everyone that has signed up for our monthly 'friends' email newsletter - we've had lots of responses and if you want to join up, then simply email us with your name from the 'contact us' page. We hope to have the first one out in the next few weeks - we've been so busy it has been a little delayed but you should receiving something in you inbox in the next couple of weeks.
Best regards

March 2010 Newsletter
Well, spring is finally here.... well, I hope so, as when I look outside the window as I write this, the rain is lashing against the glass and the leafless trees are bent double against the wind!
Easter has arrived in the shop this week so we have decorated our windows with a selection of great Spring and Easter items. It has become very popular in recent years to make an Easter tree to celebrate both Easter and the arrival of Spring - its relatively inexpensive to make and can look fabulous. We've got a wonderful new collection of decorations for your Easter trees - its amazing how just cutting a few hazel and willow twigs, popping then in a enamel vase and hanging on a few decorations can really bring Spring into your home. Also come and see our collection of Easter chickens and chicks, they look wonderful sitting on a kitchen dresser or in a fireplace.
For a very limited period, we are able to get the Emma Bridgewater 'blue hen' designs back in the shop after it was discontinued several years ago. Many customers have asked us about this design and we've finally persuaded Emma to produce a re-run of this popular range. Don't wait long as we're not expecting to be able to get any more once our supply has been sold.
By the middle of March we will also have a new selection of garden and kitchen gifts instore - just in time for planting up your seedlings.
Featuring in our windows this month are the very popular Vanessa Arbuthnutt fabrics - we carry the full range of this popular collection inspired by the English countryside. Her fabrics work well in both traditional and contemporary settings and is one of my personal favourites.
And DONT FORGET that mothers day is fast approaching so make a point of popping in to see what's new and even drop a few hints to your little ones !!
Best regards

We hope you have had a happy Christmas, it seems to have flown past so quickly.
Now that we're in January, the government has increased VAT up to 17.5% but the good news is that we're holding our prices and absorbing the extra cost ourselves on many of the shop items.
